Committed to the development of healthy classical production in singers of all ages, Catherine has been an active private teacher for more than 25 years, and include a combined 16 years serving as a faculty member at The Potomac School in McLean, Virginia, and at St. Mary's School and Meredith College, where during her 10 year tenure her students won the annual Concerto Competition nine times. Her students perform both locally and nationally in opera and music theater and have included two Miss North Carolinas. Her students have consistently been winners at the state, regional, and national levels of competitions sponsored by such groups as the National Federation of Music Clubs, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the National Federation of Woman's Clubs, and the highly competitive annual ARTS and Talent Search sponsored by the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (www.artsawards.org) in Miami, Florida, where her student was a National Finalist and Presidential Scholar in 2004. In each of the last three years, Catherine's students have been National Finalists in the Music Teachers National Association Senior Voice competition, finishing 3rd in 2005, and 2nd in 2006. Catherine's high school students have been offered scholarships in voice to such schools as the New England Conservatory of Music, the Hartt School of Music, The University of Maryland, Oberlin College, The Ohio State University, The University of North Carolina, The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, North Carolina School of the Arts, Appalachian State University, Meredith College, Elon University, Furman, and Catholic University.
    A frequent guest clinician and adjudicator, Catherine is an active member of the National Federation of Music Clubs, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and the Music Teachers National Association.
